Gochar (“we,” “us,” “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

Data We Collect

• Birth details: Date, time, and place of birth (required to generate your Kundli).
• Account info: Name and email address (for login and receipts).
• Chat history: Conversations with Gochar (stored to maintain context and improve responses).
• Payment info: Transaction records. Payment processing is handled by third-party providers, we do not store card or UPI details.
• Device & usage data: Device type, OS version, app usage analytics, and crash logs.
• Waitlist submissions: Phone number and source from launch forms, stored via our Google Sheets webhook workflow.

How We Use Your Data

• Generate and store your Kundli chart and astrological calculations.
• Power Gochar's AI responses with your chart context.
• Process payments and send receipts.
• Improve app performance, fix bugs, and enhance features.
• Manage launch waitlist notifications for users who opt in.
• Send optional notifications (daily horoscope, transit alerts, user-controlled).

What We Do NOT Do

• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone.
• We do not share your birth details or chat content with other users.
• We do not use your data for third-party advertising profiles.

Third-Party Services

• AI processing: Conversations are sent to our AI provider for response generation. Data is not retained by the provider beyond processing.
• Payment gateway: Razorpay / Google Play Billing / Apple In-App Purchase for transaction processing.
• Analytics: PostHog (web), Firebase / Mixpanel (app) for anonymised product analytics.
• Waitlist storage: Google Sheets and Google Apps Script for early access signups and aggregated launch counts.
• Cloud infrastructure: Encrypted storage on AWS / GCP.

Data Security

• All data encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (AES-256).
• Birth details and chat history stored in isolated, encrypted databases.
• Access restricted to essential engineering personnel only.

Your Rights

• Export your data at any time from Settings.
• Delete your account and all associated data permanently.
• Opt out of analytics and optional notifications.
• Request data access or correction via support email.

Data Retention

• Active accounts: data retained while account is active.
• Deleted accounts: all personal data purged within 30 days.
• Anonymised analytics may be retained for product improvement.

Children

Gochar is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
